McCann Printing is pleased to offer its customers the benefit of uploading their files to our FTP (File Transfer Protocol) server. You can do this from the comfort of your home or business without having to visit our print shop. Additionally, this method of file transfer is more dependable than emailing as many email servers will reject large files or take exorbitant amoutns of time to send them, slowing your computer considerably in the process. Our FTP site is ideal for sending your files to us over the web from any type of browser.
It is important that your files (including all links and fonts) be collected into one directory and either “stuffed” using StuffIt (Macintosh) or “zipped” using WinZip (Windows) prior to uploading. This lowers the chance that your files will become corrupt during the transfer and also reduces the transfer time.
If you utilize Mac OS X 10.3 or above, you should use the built in “Create Archive” function. Select the folder you wish to “zip” and use “Create Archive of…” in the File menu. We occasionally have trouble with Stuffit files not working properly and this will also eliminate the need for purchasing any additional software.
Contact us to finalize arrangements for your job. Please don’t upload your file without contacting us so we will know what your file is and who is sending it to us. Also, it will allow you to provide any last minute instructions if needed as well as give us a chance to ask specific questions to be sure we deliver high quality results.
Call us at 417-831-7207 for login information and to ask any questions you may have. We will be happy to assist you in uploading your files. After you send them to us, you can expect a quick turnaround on all types of projects, from small booklets to bulk mailers.
